Is it necessary to upgrade my battery cables to 2 gauge, with the Navitas 600 amp controller on ezgo rxv ac current? Navitas says not needed. Thanks

I have a navitas 600amp controller. (Currently alltrax does not have a controller for the rxv, so I have no idea where that dealer was coming from....lol) It has more off the line torque than a DC (txt48) does and on an otherwise stock cart it will do 28-29mph with no other changes!!

Now about your tires, you said you are running 18 inch wheels? Are you referring to the stock tires that are 18" tall? If so your cart will have no issues zipping up that incline. Uphill is were an AC drive system shines!!

In reply to <a href="https://buildyourgolfcart.com/blog/build-ezgo-rxv/#comment-1022">Keith Skultety</a>.

Alright Keith I talked to a few dealers and here's there responses to your question.

"350amp is the largest direct replacement controller option for the rxv." - Ryan

"No you will need to upgrade the control box to 400 or 500 amp. Aftermarket go alltrax 18s are to big for a 350 amp with hills." - Chris

"Curtis make the 350 Amp drop in controller and depending on if you are converting from the Danaher or upgrading the existing curtis varies by a few hundred dollars. Navitas now offers a 600 Amp drop in controller for the RXV that you can adjust with smart phone app by bluetooth. We have sold quit a few and very impressive. Can even lock the cart by app to prevent theft. We have them in stock. Let me know if you need one." - Tracey

"The stock controller will handle this, would recommend the Navitas 600 amp controller, and remember to upgrade you cables." - Sean
